Now here’s a name from the past – David Fry – from the Optical Systems Division at STL… Remember me? The one who went off to a radio station in the Indian Ocean? I just ‘happened’ to come across your blog and was shocked to learn of the agressive tumour and what humanly seems like a hopeless situation.
Remember those wonderful discussions during coffee time when faith was often a topic?. I am still in “optical communications” 😉

Sorry to hear that Rich, might I recommend socks and a beanie ! I wear them to bed (as well as PJs) – keeps me warmer (since either Adam or Linda remove the duvet during the night) and deters unwelcome advances from neighbors when putting out the trash late at night.
Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.

Hello Richard, was thinking of you in the middle of the night, and first of all was thinking of the cold (whilst clutching hot water bottle). then I had a dream in which a yacht sailed on a beautiful ocean. I sat at the edge of the deck looking at a coral island close to the hull, and two young women appeared. They were there to help you and Lavinia, but nobody was supposed to know they were there!
